The person behind Old Man Creator
I’m Old Man Chris, and at 59, I started a YouTube channel to share what I was learning about a topic I was passionate about. I’d recorded four videos before launching, hoping I’d get a little better with each one. The first few weeks were quiet, then my fourth video found an audience—and I gained more than 1,000 subscribers in four days. It was an exciting surprise, but it also showed me what’s possible when you keep learning and creating. Now I’m on a mission to help people in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond find their voice and share their passions.

Why Old Man Creator
Starting a channel shouldn’t feel like learning a new language. This is a place for older beginners who want a clear, practical way to create.
Camera settings, editing, uploading—we’ll make sense of the essentials without burying you in jargon.
A hobby, a skill, a lesson learned the hard way. You don’t need to chase trends to have something worth saying.
Build confidence one video at a time. Start simple, get a little better, and leave room for the rest of your life.
Your first small step
Think of something a friend always asks you about. That could be the beginning of your first video.
“I could help someone learn how to ________.”
Be specific. “How I grow tomatoes on a small balcony” is a clearer starting point than “gardening.”
Use your phone, face a window, and talk as if you’re explaining it to a friend. You don’t have to publish it.
Maybe it’s the sound. Maybe it’s your opening sentence. Try again with just that one change.
